The BIO Longor shallot is an elongated variety with pink flesh, prized for its fine, aromatic flavour. Highly productive, it produces regular bulbs and stores well after harvest. A must-have in the vegetable garden for flavourful cooking.

Growing tips:

  • Location and soil: full sun and light, fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid heavy or wet soils.

  • Planting: plant from February to April or in autumn in light soil. Space bulbs 10–15 cm apart, rows 25–30 cm apart. Leave the neck just above soil level.

  • Care: moderate watering during dry spells and regular weeding.

  • Harvest: in summer when foliage yellows and falls over.

  • Drying and storage: dry for a few days, then store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

Perfect for sauces, cooked dishes, marinades and everyday cooking, thanks to its aromatic flesh and good keeping quality.
