More info
The BIO Clédor garlic is white with a slight purple hue, valued for its productivity and cold tolerance. Ideal for autumn (October–December) or spring (February–March) planting, each bulb contains around 7 cloves ready for planting, producing regular, flavorful bulbs.
Growing tips:
-
Storage before planting: keep cloves in a cool, dry, dark place away from frost.
-
Location and soil: sunny spot with fertile, light, well-drained soil. Avoid high nitrogen before planting to prevent rot. Rotate crops every 2–3 years without garlic or other alliums.
-
Planting: separate cloves carefully, point upward, 10–15 cm apart in rows 25–30 cm apart, 2–3 cm deep. On heavy soil, create a 10 cm mound to improve drainage.
-
Care: moderate watering during dry periods, light weeding. In June, tie or lay down leaves to increase bulb size.
-
Harvest: about 8 months after autumn planting, when foliage yellows. Let bulbs dry a few days before storing.
-
Storage: cool, dry, well-ventilated. Braid stems for hanging to prolong shelf life.
Tip: garlic is a natural repellent and makes an excellent companion plant.
