Onion Shakespeare Autumn Yellow

Discover this early autumn onion with yellow, firm flesh, perfect for your spring crops. Its round shape and excellent flavor make it a garden essential. Planted from October to mid-December, it can be harvested from late May. Each pack contains approximately 75 sets per 250 g.

For a successful harvest, plant the sets 25 cm apart between rows and 10 cm within the row, pressing the soil firmly. Plant slightly deep, leaving the sprout “tip” just above the soil. Harvest when the leaves start to yellow; let the onions dry for a few days in the open air before cleaning and storing them in a dry, well-ventilated place.

On heavy or wet soils, consider raised beds. If necessary, loosen the plants slightly at the end of the cycle to prevent rot. These onions, grown from local, open-pollinated seeds, provide a healthy harvest suited to your terroir while supporting biodiversity and food autonomy.
