More info
Sow basil in a nursery from April in well-drained soil, at a depth of 0.5 cm, in rows spaced 30 cm apart. Maintain a temperature of around 20 °C for rapid germination. Transplant into open ground from mid-May, spacing the plants 30 to 40 cm apart. Basil thrives in full sun and with regular watering for vigorous growth. Harvest the leaves once the plant is well-established, typically around 50–70 days after sowing.
